Registered Nurse (RN) - Full-Time Days (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Mercy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a full-time day shift position. As an RN you will utilize the nursing process to provide exceptional patient care while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to promote optimal patient outcomes. Schedule
  • Full-Time
  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Weekend call and alternate shifts may be required based on departmental needs
Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse you will:

  • Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned patient care and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers.
  • Coordinate patient care activities with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized plans of care.
  • Involve patients and families in care decisions and provide appropriate education.
  • Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments and care plans.
  • Conduct patient handoffs utilizing established patient safety tools such as SBAR and bedside reporting.
  • Interpret and utilize diagnostic laboratory and monitoring data.
  • Communicate patient status and pertinent findings to providers and the healthcare team.
  • Participate in patient rounding to ensure quality care and patient satisfaction.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to LPNs and unlicensed healthcare personnel according to scope of practice and competencies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and advocate for patient rights.
  • Participate in process improvement activities committees quality initiatives and professional development opportunities.
  • Complete all required competencies certifications and mandatory training within designated timeframes.
  • Support Mercys mission values and service standards in all interactions.
Qualifications
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Professional Nursing program.
Licensure
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state or compact RN licensure.
  • Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Additional certifications may be required based on department assignment including:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • PEARS
  • C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
  • S.T.A.B.L.E.
  • OCN
  • CPHON
  • Other unit-specific certifications as required
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to push pull and/or lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to bend kneel twist squat reach and grip to perform job duties.
