About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Registered Nurse Float Psych for a 13-week evening shift assignment in Holyoke MA. This role supports adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric care in a behavioral health setting. The nurse must be comfortable floating to similar or lower-acuity units and taking charge when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect psychiatric nursing care.

• Support adult and adolescent inpatient behavioral health patients.

• Maintain a safe therapeutic trauma-informed care environment.

• Participate in treatment planning with the multidisciplinary team.

• Develop implement and document patient goals and interventions.

• Use de-escalation and crisis intervention skills when needed.

• Float to similar or lower-acuity units as required.

• Take charge responsibilities when assigned.

• Communicate effectively with patients families and care teams.

• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record.

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse license required at submission.

• Minimum 1 year of adult and adolescent inpatient psych experience required.

• CPR certification required.

• Psychiatric/substance abuse inpatient experience preferred.

• Restraint reduction de-escalation or crisis intervention experience preferred.

• Must be willing to float.

• Must be willing to take charge.

• Every other weekend and every other holiday required.

• Strong critical thinking communication crisis management and teamwork skills required.
