Our client a well-established privately held national company in the industrial products and services sector is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Director to join its sales leadership team.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales the Regional Sales Director will lead a designated team of National Account Executives (NAEs) and oversee a significant revenue territory.
This role is critical in driving organic growth customer retention and new account acquisition within key target markets. With a focus on managing and developing larger key accounts the Regional Sales Director will serve as a strategic leader responsible for developing team performance cultivating client relationships and achieving revenue targets.

Primary Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead mentor and develop a high-performing National Account Executive team to achieve sales targets and exceed expectations.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture focused on accountability growth and continuous improvement.
- Establish clear performance goals provide regular feedback and implement professional development plans to ensure team success.
- Manage a significant revenue territory with a focus on organic growth customer retention and large-scale new account acquisition.
- Strategize and execute plans to grow revenue within key accounts while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at current and prospective accounts to ensure long-term partnerships.
- Develop and oversee strategies to close and win large accounts leveraging insights into customer needs and industry trends.
- Lead business development efforts including collaboration on proposal development presentations and oversight of the large-account sales process.
- Drive accurate sales forecasting ensuring alignment with organizational goals and expectations.
- Track and report on sales performance metrics providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Sales and cross-functional teams to align sales initiatives with broader company objectives.
- Execute strategic leadership and organizational direction by developing leaders building succession pipelines and ensuring long-term team capability and engagement.
- Champion and shape company culture by aligning organizational priorities reinforcing leadership expectations and ensuring consistent communication and accountability.
- Establish departmental and functional strategies objectives metrics and operating plans that support company goals and drive sustainable business results.
- Ensure effective talent management workforce planning organizational design and performance outcomes.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and enterprise-wide collaboration to improve overall performance eliminate barriers and resolve complex organizational challenges.
- Identify assess and mitigate operational financial compliance talent and business risks while ensuring appropriate governance and escalation practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies regulatory requirements safety standards and organizational controls while fostering a culture of accountability.
- Promote responsible AI adoption and support the development and oversight of AI-enabled processes within the function.
- Develop manage and optimize departmental budgets staffing plans and resource allocation to achieve strategic objectives.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Business Marketing or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- 8 years of progressive sales experience including 3 years in a leadership role managing large territories and teams.
- Proven success driving growth within large accounts and achieving revenue targets.
- Experience in a strategic and consultative sales environment required.
- Exceptional leadership and team-management skills with a track record of motivating and developing sales teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and business-development expertise particularly in closing and growing large accounts.
- Excellent communication negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales forecasting reporting and performance analysis.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment while effectively managing multiple priorities.
- This position operates in a hybrid work environment with responsibilities performed both in a professional office setting and remotely from a home office.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers vendors and team members through phone video conferencing email and other communication platforms.
- Requires the ability to maintain a productive and professional remote workspace with reliable internet access when working from home.
- May occasionally require travel to company offices customer locations vendor facilities meetings or training events.
