How youll make an impact at Intertek:

• Provides geotechnical engineering support onmultiple projecttypes such asTransportation and/or Infrastructure Related Projectsbig box type developments multi-family developments Vertical Rise Constructions intra-environmental projects power/utility developments and other geotechnical related projects.
• Performs a variety of assignments that include independent evaluations using standard geotechnical engineeringtechniques procedures and criteria using engineering judgments to make minor adoptions and modifications during the course of work.
• Makes interpretations decisions and recommendations in reference to laboratory and fieldtest report results project field circumstances and inspections.
• Prepares and reviewsgeotechnicalreports for projects as perspecifications and project scope of work.
• Assigns work /tasks to staff as applicable.
• Utilizes local and remote staff as applicable to accomplish work/tasks and develop staff employees.
• Prepares scopes budgets and schedules for task assignments.
• Reviews recommendations with project designated Principal Consultant and/orChief Engineer.
• Engagesmaintains and leverages client relationships and develops new project opportunities.
• Attends client site meetings.
• Communicates effectively and timelywith client and project teams andattend client office and site meetings as appropriate.
• Trains and mentorstechnical staff.
• May perform on-site observations or inspections.
• Must be aware of and adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work.

What it takes to be successful in this role:

• BachelorsDegree from accredited engineering / ABET school AND MastersDegree in Geotechnical EngineeringareRequired
• 10years of experience is required
• NorthCarolina P.E. License is required or ability to obtain in State of residence of employment and adjacent States as needed
• Proficient in GeoStudioAPILELPILE GROUP SHAFT Plaxis Midas SLIDE Settle3D and MSEW and other proprietary Geotechnical Engineering Analysissoftware
• Obtain Principal Consultant status internally (CS 5 years experience/Geo 8 years experience)
• Effective communication skills (written verbal and listening) and solid interpersonal skills are required
• Candidates must have very strong communication skills and the ability to work with a team across the nation and the world
• Ability to work off shifts and overtime
