• Review mechanical drawings blueprints specifications and bid documents for commercial refrigeration projects.
• Prepare detailed estimates for refrigeration installations replacements renovations and related HVAC work.
• Perform material and labor takeoffs for refrigerant piping fittings valves equipment controls insulation and related components.
• Estimate labor requirements based on project scope complexity schedules and field conditions.
• Obtain and evaluate pricing from vendors suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare accurate project budgets and competitive bid proposals.
• Identify project risks exclusions clarifications and potential cost impacts during the estimating process.
• Review equipment schedules and specifications for compressors condensers evaporators refrigeration racks and other refrigeration equipment.
• Coordinate with project managers field leadership vendors and customers during the bidding and preconstruction process.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and job-site walkthroughs when required.
• Assist with value engineering and alternative solutions to improve project cost and constructability.
• Track bid opportunities deadlines proposals and follow-up activities.
• Assist with change-order pricing and additional work estimates.
• Maintain accurate estimating records pricing information and project documentation.
• Support the transition of awarded projects from estimating to project management and field operations.

• 3 years of commercial refrigeration and/or HVAC estimating experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems and refrigerant piping.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings blueprints specifications and equipment schedules.
• Experience performing detailed material and labor takeoffs.
• Understanding of refrigeration equipment piping installation brazing requirements pressure testing evacuation and system installation practices.
• Strong mathematical analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts mechanical/refrigeration codes and industry standards preferred.
• Previous field experience as a Refrigeration Pipefitter Refrigeration Technician or HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic is a plus.

• Experience estimating commercial refrigeration construction projects.
• Experience with supermarkets cold storage restaurants food-service facilities or other commercial refrigeration applications.
• Familiarity with refrigeration racks walk-in coolers/freezers condensers evaporators compressors and associated piping systems.
• Experience working with general contractors mechanical contractors vendors and equipment manufacturers.
• Relevant refrigeration/HVAC licenses or certifications are a plus.
