A Brief Overview
Accountable for the direction and scheduling of physician referrals and/or procedures for the consumer.
What you will do
- Schedules all out-of-clinic procedures and appointments including but not limited to clinic diagnostics hospital-based diagnostics specialty physician clinic appointments etc.
- Develops and researches insurance information and serves as a resource for preauthorization efficiencies preauthorizing procedures ensuring consent forms and waivers are signed as appropriate.
- Complete requests of medical records to the referring physician and order forms for procedures to be scheduled by the hospital.
- Communicates with patients to inform them of the date time and location of appointments and procedures.
- Follow-up mailings may also be necessary to inform patients of testing protocol and requirements.

Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- High School or GED Equivalent
Preferred Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- 1-3 years Healthcare administrative work involving scheduling and/or insurance duties
