OBJECTIVES

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for store sales warehouse and business and operations positions from the hiring manager intake conversation through offer acceptance and start date.
  • Actively source and headhunt candidates rather than relying on inbound applicants alone building strong pipelines for Muellers most frequently hired roles.
  • Write compelling job postings and manage Indeed and other recruiting sources including sponsored job budgets and sourcing tools to attract qualified candidates in the local market.
  • Conduct phone screens and first-round interviews evaluating candidates for skills experience and alignment with Muellers core values.
  • Coordinate interview schedules across store managers and leadership so every candidate moves through the process without delays.
  • Follow up consistently with every candidate so each applicant has a professional respectful and timely experience with the Mueller name.
  • Hold hiring managers accountable to interview schedules feedback and decision timelines so strong candidates are not lost to slow responses.
  • Track open positions pipeline activity and hiring results and report progress to leadership on a consistent cadence.
  • Serve as a people-focused resource for employees and managers supporting interpersonal relations conflict resolution and mediation with fairness and empathy.
  • Support managers with performance conversations documentation and write-ups partnering with HR advisors to handle each situation consistently and professionally.
  • Partner with the HR Coordinator on new-hire paperwork and handoffs so every new team member has a smooth start.
  • Build and improve Muellers hiring processes templates and interview practices so recruiting scales with the business as new locations open.
  • Take on additional human resources duties as assigned supporting the People team as the company grows.

  • Manages several open roles and candidate pipelines at once without letting any candidate manager or deadline slip through the cracks.
  • Welcomes feedback and new responsibilities eager to grow from recruiting into broader human resources work with guidance from experienced HR advisors.
  • Represents Mueller Furniture to candidates and employees with truthfulness servant leadership accountability and extreme competence in every interaction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelors degree in human resources business or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of recruiting experience required including active candidate sourcing phone screening and managing multiple open positions at once; full-cycle recruiting experience preferred.
  • Experience managing Indeed or similar job boards and applicant tracking tools required; recruiting experience in retail warehouse or multi-location businesses preferred.
  • Experience with conflict resolution employee relations or performance documentation preferred; SHRM-CP PHR or similar HR certification or active progress toward one preferred; proficiency with Google Workspace including Google Sheets preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work on site at the corporate office in Fairview Heights Illinois Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally to Muellers store and warehouse locations to meet with managers interview candidates and support employees.
  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods managing job postings candidate communication interview scheduling and hiring records throughout the workday.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Base salary: $60000 to $75000 per year depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Pay schedule: Paid weekly every Friday.
  • Paid time off: 5 days in the first year 10 days from the first through fourth anniversaries and 15 days from the fifth through seventh anniversaries.
  • Holidays: Stores are closed on Easter Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  • Employee discount: Discounted pricing on Mueller Furniture products for eligible employees.
