Perform tests for diagnosis and medical research. Prepare and give small doses of radioactive drugs (radiopharmaceuticals) to patients then use high-level imaging equipment to record images of the radioactive material in the medical procedures to patients and answer any questions they may safety procedures to protect the patients and themselves from unnecessary radiation and administer radioactive drugs to and watch for any unusual reactions patients may have to imaging detailed procedure safety and disposal radiation associates or bachelors degree in nuclear medicine technology.A state license and certification to practice nuclear ability to competently operate imaging manual dexterity and mechanical communication skills and empathy when dealing with patients and their critical thinking and analytical physical stamina necessary to stand for long periods of time and lift patients who need help moving.
