Job Summary

Sign on bonus available! (current employees of MGB not eligible)

The Radiation Therapist will demonstrate essential skills in treatment modalities and protocols to accurately set up and administer daily radiotherapy treatments. The therapist will also be responsible for communicating effectively with patients families medical staff and the healthcare team.

Essential Functions
-Administers radiation therapy treatment accurately and safely following departmental policy and procedure.
-Positions and immobilizes patients according to the treatment plan effectively evaluates images in accordance with standard guidelines and assists with resolving setup issues.
-Ability to teach student therapists and other departmental observers.
-Utilizes the Quality Assurance (QA) program to encompass all aspects of treatment treatment delivery and quality patient care.

Education
Associates Degree Radiation Therapy required or Bachelors Degree Radiation Therapy preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Radiation Therapist State License required

Radiation Therapy R.T.(T)(ARRT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Continued employment is contingent upon obtaining valid ARRT certification within 6 months of hire date

Experience
Continuous clinical experience 0-1 year required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- May be required to demonstrate basic knowledge and skills in one or more specialty areas and programs.
- Specialty Rotations will include these additional responsibilities.
- Understands the function of all equipment accessories treatment policies procedures and protocols and applies knowledge appropriately.
- Performs daily QA measures to ensure proficient operation of all imaging and treatment equipment.
- Works flexible shifts depending on patient volume and departmental needs.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills including the ability to use appropriate judgment independent thinking and creativity when resolving issues and conflicts.
