Overview
Quality Operations Engineer plays a critical role in strengthening the organizations quality management system by partnering closely with Facility Quality Engineers/Managers and cross-functional teams. This position focuses on driving effective root cause analysis implementing corrective and preventive actions supporting continuous improvement initiatives and developing clear compliant procedures that enhance operational performance across multiple fabrication and manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities
Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions
- Lead and facilitate structured root cause analysis (5 Why Fishbone FMEA etc.) for quality issues across facilities.
- Collaborate with Facility Quality Engineers/Managers to ensure investigations are thorough data-driven and completed within required timelines.
- Develop validate and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure sustainable resolution of issues.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented actions and escalate systemic or recurring issues as needed.
Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to improve product quality process capability and operational efficiency.
- Support or lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
- Analyze quality data and trends to proactively address potential risks.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across all operational sites.
Procedure & Documentation Development - Write revise and standardize quality procedures work instructions and forms to ensure clarity compliance and alignment across facilities.
- Work with facility teams to ensure procedures accurately reflect current practices and regulatory requirements.
- Support training dept on rollout of new or updated procedures to ensure consistent adoption.
Quality System Support - Collaborate with and assist the Global Compliance Manager in maintaining compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO 9001 or industry-specific standards).
- Participate in internal audits and support facilities in preparing for external audits.
- Provide guidance and technical support to facility teams on quality tools documentation and best practices.
Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in quality engineering manufacturing quality or process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of root cause analysis tools and CAPA processes.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma certification a plus).
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
- Strong analytical communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
