Quality Inspector II

DPP is seeking a Quality Inspector II for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry.

Work location: Onsite in Oxnard CA
Duration: 12 months
Shift: 2:30PM-Midnight
Terms: W2 Contract
Work Authorization: US Citizen

Position summary:

• As the Quality Inspector II you will support the Quality department.
• As a member of the Quality department youll get to support repair and manufacturing programs by ensuring products conform to engineering drawings QMS requirements and contractual specifications.

• Use predetermined methods operations setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products.
• Perform required inspections (visual dimensional and functional etc.) on spacecraft components.
• Use various measuring devices such as caliper micrometer comparator pin gages and Coordinate Measuring Machine.
• This job has decision-making responsibilities with regards to the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed.
• Inspect and perform tests on mechanical electrical or structural components and assemblies related to spacecraft components and sub-assemblies. Inspections vary from close tolerance dimensional checks to general surveillance of the work in progress.
• Support Production Teams: Interface with manufacturing operations and engineering personnel to improve processes and documentation issues.
• Document Non-conformances: Identify document and track non-conforming material and assist in identifying root causes.
• Perform Receiving Inspection: Inspect incoming purchased parts and materials against vendor certifications and engineering requirements.
• Maintain Records: Maintain detailed inspection records logs and reports
• Accepts rejects or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
  Work from drawings diagrams customer specifications and inspection instructions.

• High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of additional education and/or direct experience in a quality assurance or inspection role.
• Experience utilizing various measuring devices such as caliper micrometer comparator gages pin gages and other inspection tools.

• Strong Computer skills
• Ability to read and comprehend detail control plans work instructions drawings Bill of Materials Specifications and related criteria
• Understanding of GD&T
• Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface across the organization to achieve effective results
• Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads.
• Experience with electronics workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 and other related specifications
• Experience in Aerospace manufacturing mechanical assemblies and/or electronic assemblies.
