You will be supporting SQAs national inspection team in the field by performing quality inspection of electromechanical components. You will be a quality representative for our client on behalf of SQA to support quality improvements.
This is a part-time opportunity requiring support one day per week. The schedule offers flexibility Monday through Friday with no weekend work required. Compensation ranges from $30$35 per hour depending on experience. Apply today for immediate and serious consideration!
This is a 1-year contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual physical and dimensional inspections (both in-process and final) of parts per project specifications and requirements.
- Perform incoming inspections from external providers of products and services (e.g. nickel plating).
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of critical features including witness inspections (e.g. CMM program run).
- Compile final inspection sign-off sheets and inspection packages.
- Verify that inspection equipment is capable of detecting defects and ensure inspection methodology aligns with drawing intent.
- Review and validate the justification for parts not inspected at final inspection.
- Audit and validate the execution of inspection plans as applicable.
- Document non-conformances using approved methods and submit non-conformance reports for customer disposition.
- Verify hardware cleanliness and absence of internal or external foreign object debris.
- Verify fasteners are properly installed; assure torque stripe is continuous and of correct color.
- Assure products are free of gaps mismatches fairing and of acceptable contour and waviness.
- Ensure products are of good workmanship and meet specified standards (e.g. oil canning riding conditions loose fasteners drill starts scratches dings burrs fastener edge distance).
- Review and validate First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation including completeness traceability and compliance.
- Ensure the protection and preservation of inspected products for subsequent processing and shipment.
- Verify applicable shipping documentation for legibility and completeness including part number serial number configuration change letter and shipping destination.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have at least 4 years of experience
- Must have experience with documents such as FAI PO COC and Process certification
- Extensive experience as a Quality Inspector or CMM Operator with industry and commodity-specific expertise.
- Proficiency in dimensional inspection of precision tolerance parts.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with all inspection tools.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex GD&T requirements and validate complex assemblies.
- Experience with multiple primary and secondary part numbers (e.g. brackets clips doublers splices brackets drip shields etc.).
- Must be ITAR compliant
- Must be willing to undergo a background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified or previously certified in GD&T ASME Y-14.5.
- 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry with at least 2 years as a Mechanical Inspector.
$30 - $35 an hour
