Job Summary
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to own quality across demo delivery pipelines to Apple Stores worldwide. You will design and drive automated coverage across OS-regression cycles production and delivery pipelines engineering toolchains and OTA distribution mechanisms for every major release. Deep partnership with cross-functional engineering teams is essential because this work sits at the intersection of Apple operating systems and store demo environments.
Set the strategy and quality bar for bundle composition OTA distribution and OS-regression validation across all Apple author and maintain end-to-end automation across the bundle and OTA pipeline including validating bundle installation boot and runtime behavior. Pair and balance automation with exploratory OS regression against every major release including bundle content and tooling validations. Raise bugs and collaborate with partner teams to identify and commit fixesnInfluence engineering partners on tooling design. Shape logs test hooks and diagnostic surfaces so failures are easily observable and release-readiness clearly to leadership and stakeholders. Translate coverage defect trends and rollout risk into a confident go no-go or rollback decisions.
7 years in software quality engineering test automation or software development. nDemonstrated technical leadership defining quality strategy for multiple systems or release pipelines. Track record partnering directly with software and build engineers to influence tooling design quality practices and aligning reporting standards across partner organizations. nExperience mentoring QA engineers on automation and build-pipeline in Python and Swift comfortable improving legacy code committing and driving fixes through to completion in partnership with multiple engineering experience designing building and maintaining end-to-end test automation frameworks paired with strong manual and exploratory testing validating across multiple Apple platforms: iOS/iPadOS macOS watchOS tvOS and visionOS with a deep understanding of Apple OS fundamentals including deployment and update mechanics as well as build lifecycle and release management practices. nSkilled at testing on physical and virtual Apple hardware. Experienced at lab device provisioning fleet management and configuration management. nProficient in test planning risk-based test design issue triage log analysis and independently root-causing failures that span multiple layers (network OTA systems hardware operating systems device settings content applications). nMake go/no-go quality decisions and define release strategies with risk-mitigation and rollback plans. nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Jenkins TeamCity GitHub Docker/Kubernetes Ansible).nBS in Computer Science Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Experience validating against pre-release software working with beta buildsnComfortable navigating disclosure constraints working through ambiguity and defining expected behavior in the absence of finalized requirementsnExperience testing AI- or ML-driven features where output is non-deterministicnExperience leveraging AI in workflows and automationnExcellent written and verbal communication. Able to report quality and release-readiness status clearly to cross-functional and leadership stakeholders.
