Job Summary
This role is part of a Quality Control team responsible for manufacturing quality engineering activities for current and new production at the Columbia City facility. The Quality Engineer works crossfunctionally with plant personnel Customer Service and customers to support product quality resolve issues and drive continuous improvement through Lean and quality systems.
Lead core quality activities including PPAP completion RMA/customer return analysis production quality issue resolution and supplier quality management.
Collaborate crossfunctionally to develop improve and launch robust manufacturing processes and support new product introductions.
Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives including tooling/workstation improvements and cost reduction efforts.
Manage supplier interactions technical coordination and manufacturing change processes (MCN) including feasibility reviews and component validation.
Analyze equipment processes and technologies to support capital planning product/process improvements and overall operational efficiency.
Minimum 2 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical problem-solving and statistical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
Ability to work crossfunctionally with strong communication collaboration and facilitation skills.
Proficiency in computer applications (Excel Word project tools) and data analysis.
Results-driven detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship to obtain or keep U.S. work authorization.
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience with ISO 9001 ISO 13485 AS9100 or IATF 16949 quality systems.
ASQ certifications (e.g. Certified Quality Engineer) or willingness to obtain.
Auditor certification/training (Lead or Internal Auditor) for applicable standards.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
