DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations is currently looking for a Quality Control Technician to join their team.
The FBS QC Technician I works with the DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations team to support inspection activities for Factory-Built Substation assemblies. This entry-level quality role verifies workmanship fit-up drawing compliance and process adherence during assigned stages of production. The position supports the Quality Manager Quality Coordinator and production personnel by identifying quality concerns early documenting findings clearly and helping reduce rework through consistent inspection practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform independent in-process and final inspections of Rigid and Flexible PFB assemblies using drawings specifications checklists and applicable quality procedures.
  • Verify dimensional fit-up component placement hardware workmanship and assembly requirements at multiple production stages.
  • Identify document and communicate nonconforming conditions and support containment disposition and re-inspection activities.
  • Assist with review of recurring defects rework trends and inspection data to help improve quality performance.
  • Provide guidance to QC Technician I personnel on inspection expectations documentation practices and escalation requirements.
  • Coordinate inspection priorities with Quality Coordinator to support schedule needs without compromising quality requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to inspection checkpoints process adherence and reduction of rework.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Working knowledge of FBS assembly processes DTPS drawing packages PSS procedures and quality documentation requirements.
  • Ability to inspect work independently recognize quality risks and determine when escalation is needed.
  • Ability to use approved measurement tools inspection checklists and documentation systems accurately.
  • Ability to work with Team Leads production personnel engineering and quality staff to resolve quality concerns professionally.
  • Demonstrated reliability attention to detail ownership of assigned inspections and ability to support multiple production priorities.
