Operating Schedules
  • 2nd Shift 3:00pm - 11:30pm Monday - Friday
  • 3rd Shift 11:00pm - 7:30am Monday - Friday
This supports our 24/7 manufacturing environment.

This role is not just a QC technical role; its primarily a people leadership operational leadership position in a GMP manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate:
  • Has direct supervisory experience managing frontline quality manufacturing or lab personnel
  • Has experience in regulated manufacturing (strong preference: dietary supplements pharma biotech medical device or food)
  • Can confidently lead a team on off-shift/weekend operations with minimal oversight
  • Is comfortable making real-time quality decisions involving:
    • product holds/releases
    • deviations
    • nonconforming material
    • escalation of production quality issues

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and Develop the QC Inspection Team
  • Train mentor and support Quality Control Inspection personnel to ensure they are confident capable and successful in their roles.
  • Ensure team members are properly trained on quality procedures cGMP requirements safety practices and chemical hazard awareness before taking on new responsibilities.
  • Provide regular coaching feedback and performance evaluations to help employees grow and develop their careers.
  • Build a strong high-performing team by attracting developing and retaining top talent.
Ensure Product Quality and Compliance
  • Oversee inspection activities for incoming materials in-process production and finished products to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
  • Verify that sampling plans inspection procedures and defect classifications are applied correctly and consistently.
  • Review and support the handling of nonconforming materials deviations and rework activities according to established procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with cGMP FDA OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Support Manufacturing Operations
  • Partner closely with Production and other departments to ensure timely quality inspections and efficient product flow.
  • Maintain awareness of contamination prevention practices and ensure proper precautions are followed during sampling and inspection activities.
  • Support quality inspection activities on the production floor and understand the manufacturing process from raw material receipt through finished product release.
  • Ensure inspection measuring and testing equipment is properly calibrated maintained and suitable for use.
Drive Continuous Improvement
  • Lead investigations into quality issues identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes systems and team performance through collaboration across departments.
  • Make informed decisions within established guidelines and take action when product quality or compliance is at risk including stopping a process when necessary.
  • Promote a culture of accountability quality and continuous improvement.
Stay Current and Lead by Example
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) cGMPs company policies and regulatory expectations.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for quality processes and help train others on best practices.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail ensuring documentation is accurate complete and audit-ready.
  • Consistently model safe work practices and adherence to company standards.

WHAT YOU NEED

Required:
  • 25 years in regulated manufacturing
    • Strong preference: dietary supplements or pharmaceuticals
  • 13 years of people leadership / supervisor experience
  • Experience in:
  • GMP / cGMP environments
  • Inspections / Quality checks
  • Investigations / Deviations / CAPA
  • Comfortable working weekend overnight shift (3rd shift)
  • Strong communication and ability to hold team accountable
