This role places you on the Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) at Fords Chicago Assembly Plant (CAP) working directly on the Explorer Aviator and Explorer Interceptor programs. Youll own fixed and moveable glass quality; troubleshooting issues real time. As part of Fords Product Development organization youll serve as the first line of defense for vehicle quality digging into root causes and helping continuously raise the bar on the quality.

In this position...

• Deliver current model quality improvement projects to achieve warranty and cost objectives with support from core and VFG leaders.
• Work collaboratively with VRT counterparts to drive improvement in Design MFG and Supplier issues.
• Lead plant trials for quality cost and supplier improvements.

What youll do...

• Support plan in resolving stop ships/builds campaigns quality issues ergo issues & first time through (FTT)issues.
• Support plant quality meetings VRT report outs and Plant Vehicle Quality Reviews.
• Initiate/support Worldwide Engineering Release System (WERS) Concerns (CR) and alerts for design changes and plant trials.
  

Youll have...

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• 3 years of experience with quality containment and corrective action processes including root cause analysis and driving interim/permanent corrective actions.
• 2 years of hands-on experience with quality and engineering systems such as GSAR JIRA QED AIMS WERS and IRIS/SIMPSN or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems.

Even better you may have...

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt knowledge with a proven track record applying rigorous Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologiessuch as 8D 3-Legged 5 Whys and Is/Is-Not Analysisto rapidly resolve complex quality issues.
• Direct hands-on engineering experience in a high-volume automotive final assembly plant environment supporting new model launches (major/minor programs) line trials stop-ship/stop-build containment and First-Time-Through (FTT) issue resolution.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidates skills and experience and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope responsibility and competitive market value.
