Job Summary

Purchasing Manager

As a Purchasing Manager you will oversee daily procurement and supply chain management operations at The Brown Hotel. Youll control inventory and costs and collaborate with the culinary and finance team to maintain high standards. This role reports to the Director of Food & Beverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee purchasing receiving storage and distribution of all food and beverage products.
  • Maintain strong compliance with procurement programs and vendor standards.
  • Manage the receipt inspection storage and inventory tracking of all products delivered to the hotel.
  • Conduct and supervise monthly inventories and reconcile discrepancies between physical and recorded inventory.
  • Serve as the property expert for purchasing systems and platforms including Folio Profitsword and related tools.
  • Coordinate closely with Accounting to support accurate and efficient month-end processes.
  • Monitor product quality vendor deliveries shortages and discrepancies and communicate issues to leadership.
  • Maintain accurate inventory rotation labeling and storage procedures to minimize waste and shrinkage.
  • Develop purchasing forecasts and assist with budgeting and cost allocation across departments.
  • Manage vendor relationships and procurement contracts to ensure quality cost efficiency and service standards.
  • Lead the safe transport and delivery of products throughout the hotel.
  • Monitor slow-moving inventory and recommend solutions to improve inventory control and reduce costs.

Education & Experience

Hotel experience is always a plus! Applicants should have:

  • Strong organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with vendors leaders and associates.
  • Experience using inventory management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Knowledge of purchasing operations inventory control and vendor management.
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Sufficient education and/or literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs.
  • Ability to sit stand bend kneel and lift as requiredwith or without reasonable accommodations
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings weekends and holidays if needed
