PT ADJUNCT ASSOCIATE DEGREE NURSING
Job Summary
The part-time adjunct associate degree nursing adjunct faculty member will teach lecture/lab courses on campus or using online or hybrid technology. Clinical instruction may be required at external sites or the F. Marie Hall SimLife Center.
Essential Functions
- Teach classes labs and clinicals as assigned
- Work in cooperation with the Department Chair and full-time nursing faculty to ensure course and program outcomes are achieved
- Work cooperatively with clinical staff to provide quality learning experiences
- As assigned work in the simulation laboratory using various technology including high-fidelity manikins
- As assigned assist with setting up the skills lab and keeping the lab orderly
- May teach as a member of a team
- Assist with the development implementation and evaluation of the curriculum
- Develop familiarity with the Texas Board of Nursings requirements for professional nursing programs and commit to maintaining high standards
- Stay current with trends and innovations in nursing and education
- Maintain academic and programmatic records as required by the College and submit documentation in a timely manner
- Maintain a well-managed learning environment regardless of instructional location or modality
- Exhibit professionalism and dependability in areas such as attendance preparedness and timely performance of duties
- Accept other assignments as mutually agreed upon
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.). Applicants holding a Masters degree in a discipline other than nursing shall hold a Bachelors degree in nursing from an accredited baccalaureate program in nursing and have at least six semester hours of graduate-level content in nursing appropriate to the area or teaching responsibility
- Must have or be able to obtain an unencumbered license to practice professional nursing (Registered Nurse RN) in the State of Texas
- Must have been actively employed in nursing for the past three years or have advanced preparation in nursing nursing education and/or nursing administration
- Proficient in the English language
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate including knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Experience in nursing commensurate with department needs and teaching assignment
- Knowledge of equipment appropriate to the field of nursing
- Must possess a valid Texas Drivers license good driving record and be insurable on Midland Colleges insurance policy

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous college teaching experience
- Experience with Canvas or other learning management systems
- Worked with student nurses in a clinical setting
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Periodic evening and weekend hours during peak periods (e.g. open enrollment payroll)
- Occasional travel (less than 10%)
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift or move equipment needed in teaching nursing up to 25 pounds
- Able to ambulate to supervise students in clinical areas
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Use of manual dexterity
- Some travel to clinical sites may be required
Salary Range - $560.00/per lab hour - $825.00/per lecture hour
