TPS is currently recruiting for a Project Superintendent. This is a regular full-time position and is located in Boise ID. This position works with the Project Manager to manager and coordinate all on-site construction activities. TPS currently has an array of projects locally but will have out-of-town projects that will require travel. Applicants for this position should be well versed in heavy civil construction with some in-water work experience trench work and managing heavy equipment; scope to include materials transfer.
JOB SUMMARY
Provide the knowledge skills and experience required to manage the day-to-day field operations of construction projects. Responsible for the production quality and safety aspects of the work and is accountable for: producing quality work that is constructed consistent with the standards set forth in the project(s) contract documents; for performing the work in a timely and cost-effective manner and for maintaining a work environment that is safe and continuously kept clean and orderly. Moreover responsible for establishing a professional work environment that includes: fostering a positive atmosphere promoting proactive and effective communication facilitating problem solving and for minimizing and resolving conflict in a constructive manner. The primary focus of the Site Superintendent is to provide the managerial and leadership skills necessary to accomplish the work by means of subcontractors self-performance of work and to deliver the project on time within budget to the highest standards possible without accidents or injuries.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management or related field preferred; 2:1 experience for education may be substituted.
- Six (6) years Site Superintendent or Construction Management experience required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in government contracting required.
- A demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods associated across a wide spectrum of disciplines.
- A working knowledge of all construction trade work.
- Must have strong computer skills. Proficiency with MS Excel spreadsheets email and other software used in the construction industry desired.
- Prior experience working with US Army Corps of Engineers is preferred.
- Current safety credentials to include OSHA 30 or USACE EM 38-1-1 and First Aid/CPR required.
- Current QCM certification preferred.
- A valid drivers license issued by state of residence and in good standing.
- Will be required to pass facility security clearance investigation on DoD Projects.
- Will be required to pass Background Investigation on DoJ Projects.
