Project Manager (WaterWastewater)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Project Manager your responsibilities will encompass:

• Managing water and wastewater engineering projects from initial planning and design through bidding and construction.
• Leading the design and rehabilitation of water distribution systems wastewater collection systems pipelines pumping stations and related utility infrastructure.
• Developing project scopes schedules budgets staffing plans and deliverables.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for clients and maintaining strong relationships throughout project delivery.
• Coordinating project activities with clients regulatory agencies utility owners subconsultants contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Leading and mentoring engineers and technical staff while coordinating workloads and project assignments.
• Reviewing engineering calculations plans specifications technical reports cost estimates and other design documents.
• Providing technical direction throughout project planning design permitting bidding and construction.
• Managing project budgets schedules invoicing staffing and overall financial performance.
• Coordinating permitting and regulatory requirements with local state and federal agencies.
• Conducting and participating in project meetings design reviews site visits and field investigations.
• Overseeing bid-phase and construction-phase engineering activities including reviewing submittals and shop drawings responding to RFIs and evaluating design changes.
• Identifying project challenges and developing effective approaches to maintain progress and meet client objectives.
• Assisting the department manager with proposals scopes of work fee estimates and project schedules.
• Developing and maintaining client relationships and identifying opportunities for new and continuing work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role candidates must possess the following qualifications and abilities:

• A bachelors degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET-accredited university
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience managing the planning design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of water distribution and wastewater collection systems and associated design standards
• Demonstrated experience managing project scope schedule budget and technical deliverables
• Proficiency with engineering software including AutoCAD Civil 3D Bluebeam Revu ArcGIS WaterCAD SewerGEMS and EPANET
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects priorities and deadlines
• Experience leading engineers designers and other technical staff
• Strong client relationship and project coordination skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with WSSC Water Washington Aqueduct DC Water Baltimore City DPW Prince Georges County and/or Montgomery County
• Experience with water and sewer rehabilitation and replacement pumping stations pipeline design utility coordination and condition assessment projects.
