Project Manager Physical Security Integration
Columbus, NE - USA
Job Summary
Project Manager - Physical Security Integration
Columbus Ohio Full-Time Base $80000 to $120000 calibrated to experience Benefits from day one
The team is in place. The accounts are real. The PM seat is empty.
Our client is a growing family-owned Midwest technology integrator delivering enterprise networking cybersecurity cloud and physical security under one roof. Its physical security practice has expanded quickly and the Columbus market now carries an established local field team a full project book and enterprise and higher-education accounts that expect someone on site.
Right now a senior engineer is covering project management on top of his own job. You are the fix: the first dedicated Project Manager on the ground in Columbus reporting directly to the Director of Professional Services who leads the practice.
The honest version: you are the only PM in Ohio. The rest of the PM bench sits out of state so there is no local peer to hand things to. If you want a crowded PMO and a queue of assigned projects this is the wrong seat. If you want to own a market keep reading.
What you will own
Full delivery of Columbus-area physical security projects: scope schedule budget resourcing risk and change management.
The client relationship. Expectation-setting regular progress updates and being on site in a hard hat and vest when a job needs eyes on it not just a status call.
Coordination of the local field team: the right people on each project with clear roles and responsibilities.
Quality and closeout: testing and commissioning against spec after-action reviews and lessons learned.
PM process and rigor as the practice grows beyond its current footprint.
What this job is not
This is not a desk-only PM seat and it is not a generalist PMO role. You do not need to be the deepest technical expert on video or access control. You do need to know how those jobs actually run: site logistics vendor coordination and the commissioning and testing phases.
What you need to have done
5 years of project management ideally at a technology low-voltage or security systems integrator.
Direct PM experience on physical security projects: video surveillance access control visitor management. This outweighs a PMP with no industry background.
Owned scope schedule budget risk and the client relationship end to end.
Operated independently as the senior on-site presence without a PM peer down the hall.
PMP is a plus not a requirement. Senior project coordinators from a security or low-voltage integrator who are ready to own a market will be considered.
What success looks like in 12 months
You run the full Columbus physical security project book independently and the senior engineer is back to engineering.
You are the trusted on-site presence for the markets flagship enterprise and university accounts.
You are the go-to local PM as the practice extends into new markets.
What it pays
Base salary of $80000 to $120000 calibrated to direct physical security PM experience. The top of the range is for candidates who have run security integration projects not general IT projects.
Full benefits active on day one. No waiting period.
401(k) with a 100% match on the first 4% fully vested from the start.
Unlimited PTO.
A high-trust high-autonomy culture. You are hired to run the job not to be managed through it.
The process
A confidential conversation with Raymond Search Group a 45-minute virtual interview with the practice leader then an in-person meeting with the local team. The client moves quickly for strong candidates.
