What Youll Do as a Project Estimator

• Support the Outside Sales teams in Fort Plain NY and Lancaster PA by reviewing customer information field measurements and rough sketches to develop accurate estimates for cattle handling systems and agricultural facility projects.
• Prepare professional proposals labor estimates and supporting documentation that help our Outside Sales team deliver competitive solutions to customers.
• Read and interpret engineered drawings and blueprints while creating and modifying project layouts in SolidWorkswell provide training for the right candidate.
• Calculate material quantities labor hours equipment needs and overall project costs while negotiating with vendors and suppliers to develop accurate competitive and profitable estimates.
• Coordinate with customers Outside Sales representatives vendors subcontractors field supervisors and installation crews to help keep projects moving from estimate to completion.
• Build strong customer relationships by providing responsive communication and dependable support before during and after each project.
• Complete post-project job costing to evaluate results improve future estimating accuracy and strengthen our estimating processes.
• Travel to our Lancaster PA office during your first six months for onboarding and training with company-paid mileage lodging and per diem. Occasional job site visits may also be part of your ongoing development.

Our Ideal Project Estimator

• Agricultural & Construction Background: Hands-on construction experience combined with experience in agriculture livestock equipment fencing cattle handling systems or a related industry. You enjoy solving practical challenges and seeing projects come together.
• Organized Problem Solver: You can manage multiple estimates stay organized and think through the details to develop accurate competitive solutions.
• Technical Aptitude: Comfortable with math Microsoft Office and learning new software. Experience reading construction drawings estimating or SolidWorks is a plus but were happy to train the right person.
• Relationship Builder: Communicate professionally enjoy working with customers vendors and teammates and take ownership of your work from start to finish.
• Values-Driven: You appreciate a faith-based family-owned culture where integrity respect accountability and building lasting relationships matter every day.
