Project Engineering Manager Peru Indiana
Our client is a food manufacturing operation based in Peru Indiana seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager to lead capital and process improvement projects across the facility. This is a direct-hire retained search opportunity for a hands-on engineering leader ready to drive meaningful operational change in a production environment. Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of capital projects from scope development through commissioning and handoff
- Coordinate with operations maintenance and quality teams to align project priorities with production goals
- Develop project budgets schedules and resource plans and report progress to senior leadership
- Lead engineering reviews contractor selection and vendor management for equipment and construction projects
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency safety and product quality
- Ensure all projects meet food safety regulatory and environmental compliance requirements
- Mentor and support site engineering staff throughout project execution
Qualifications
- Background in food manufacturing is required
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Strong working knowledge of capital project processes including budgeting scheduling and contractor oversight
- Familiarity with food safety standards such as HACCP GMP and FDA regulations
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Chemical Industrial or related Engineering discipline preferred
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced production environment
