Qualifications (Preferred)

1. Minimum of associates degree in early childhood education social work psychology or related field preferred
2. Experience working with young children and families of various economic cultural and educational backgrounds
3. Ability to work independently; schedule flexibility required; own transportation necessary
4. Bilingual/Multilingual

Reports to: Project Connect CFCE Coordinator

Job Goal: To provide education and support to parents of young children promote school readiness strengthen the school/family connection and foster a sense of community.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate parent/child playgroups and activities that are developmentally appropriate at the center and in the community with a focus on early literacy
2. Provide parenting workshops and education that focus on a variety of topics including early literacy positive discipline nutrition etc.
3. Participate in outreach activities to promote the program and recruit new families.
4. Review online ASQ ASQ-SE screenings help parents understand their childs development
5. Make referrals and connect parents to available resources in the community
6. Provide transition support among the early childhood mixed delivery system including the Attleboro Public Schools
7. Participate in professional development to promote personal and professional growth
8. Accept all other reasonable responsibilities

Work Year: Per contract grant funded

• 19 hours per week Monday-Friday some Saturdays possible
• Playgroups generally scheduled during the morning
• We follow the APS calendar with limited summer playgroups at local parks/playgrounds
• Occasional evening if facilitating a parent education program

Compensation: $22-$24 per hour depending upon education
