Job Description
Under the supervision of the Director of the IT Project Management Office (PMO) the Project and Portfolio Coordinator supports the planning execution reporting and governance of technology projects across the Division of Information Technology. This position works closely with project managers project sponsors IT leaders and business stakeholders to maintain project information support portfolio reporting track project milestones coordinate governance activities and assist with project communications and documentation.
In addition to supporting PMO operations and portfolio management activities the Project Coordinator may serve as the coordinator or lead for smaller operational and specialized projects. Working under the guidance of senior project managers IT leaders and the PMO Director the position will assist with project planning stakeholder coordination schedule management risk identification status reporting and project execution activities. This responsibility provides an opportunity to develop practical project management experience while contributing to successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree or a combination of education training and experience that equates to a Bachelors degree.
Experience organizing tracking or coordinating information activities schedules deadlines budgets projects events or similar work.
Experience preparing editing formatting or maintaining professional documents reports presentations or communications.
Experience coordinating meetings maintaining records supporting teams or providing administrative operational or customer-focused support.
Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to learn and effectively use business project management or organizational systems and processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities meet deadlines and adapt to changing needs.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel PowerPoint Word and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting technology projects within a higher education public sector or similarly complex organization.
Experience developing reports presentations or dashboards for leadership and stakeholders.
Familiarity with project portfolio management project intake governance or prioritization processes.
Experience using ServiceNow and Microsoft Teams.
Familiarity with Power BI or Power Automate.
