We are pleased to highlight the essential role of an Office Services Specialist (OSS) supporting the Central Virginia Health district within the Virginia Department of Health (VDH). This position provides flexible high-quality administrative support across multiple offices Amherst Appomattox Bedford Campbell Counties and the City of Lynchburg) ensuring continuity of operations and excellent customer service in dynamic public health settings. From managing front desk responsibilities and coordinating appointments to assisting with data entry and office organization the Float OSS plays a vital role in maintaining efficiency and responsiveness across CVA locations. Their adaptability flexibility professionalism and commitment to service make them a valuable asset in advancing VDHs mission to protect and promote the health of all Virginians.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of office procedures computer and software technology use of policies & procedures and customer service
Strong interpersonal and communication skills orally and written
Strong organizational skills and experience with software applications and Microsoft Office products (i.e. WORD EXCEL and database entry) and general office equipment (copier fax calculator)
Ability and experience with setting up and maintaining files & manuals
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to follow and apply established procedures and applicable policies

Additional Considerations

3-5 years of previous experience working in a public health administration or state government setting.
Demonstrated proficiency in state-specific Virginia Department of Health (VDH) systems. Webvision Electronic Death Records (EDR) Electronic Health Database (EDH)and
Demonstrated ability to manage high volume workloads and work independently with minimal supervision.
