Qualifications for this Career Opportunity

Meet minimum qualifications:
Bachelors degree in public administration health education early childhood development/education or other behavioral or social science related field.
Two years of job related public health program experience including contracts and direct training experience.
Experience evaluating developing and writing grant responses preferred.
Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Early Childhood & Family Support/Family & Community Health.
This Program Specialist position is in the Childrens Special Health Services (CSHS) Section and oversees the new Montana Access to Pediatric Psychiatry Network (MAPPNet) This position is a subject matter expert to telehealth involving access for pediatric patients in need of mental health consultation. This position is responsible for leading all aspects of the MAPPNet a statewide project. The Program Specialist develop and administers statewide public health programs in response to state needs and federal grant solicitations. Responsibilities include: 1) Developing evidence-based public health policies and interventions; 2) Developing and implementing health surveillance and data collection systems to track analyze and evaluate programs and services; 3) Coordinating program strategic planning and facilitating stakeholder groups; and 4) Planning and coordinating program outreach training and support.
