Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide leadership and direction for the day-to-day management of a large Army acquisition program
  • Coordinate and oversee project activities ensuring they align with program goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules budgets and resource allocation plans.
  • Monitor program performance and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project success.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders including DoD clients subcontractors and team members.
  • Support the development and execution of risk management plans.
  • Prepare and present program status reports and briefings to senior management and DoD clients.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD regulations policies and procedures.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the program team.
  • Ability to orchestrate cross functional teams to ensure high quality solutions are delivered from conception to launch

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university plus 12-15 years of relevant experience in the defense industry or Masters with at least 10-13 years of relevant experience in the defense industry.
  • Proven experience in prototype development test and support equipment development and operations and maintenance.
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of engineering and manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to manage complex projects multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in risk management including the ability to identify assess and mitigate potential risks to the project.
  • Experience working with government contracts and regulations.
  • Must be a US citizen possess and be able to maintain an active Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a resident of Huntsville AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville AL area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on a DoD acquisition program
  • Highly organized demonstrating the ability to work independently at times due to fast-paced and highly productive work environment
  • Background in engineering
  • Previous military experience
  • Ability to create design documentation requirements specifications and other technical documentation
  • Extensive understanding of defense acquisition process.

Pay Range $116350.00 - $210325.00
