Production Quality Intern (Winter 2027)

Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits expanding humanitys reach into the solar system. Today Astranis satellites provide dedicated secure networks to highly-sophisticated customers across the globe large enterprises sovereign governments and the US military.

With five satellites on orbit and many more set to launch soon the company is servicing a backlog of more than $1 billion of commercial contracts. Astranis is the preferred satellite communications partner for buyers with stringent requirements for uptime data security network visibility and customization.

Astranis has raised over $1.2 billion from some of the worlds best investors including Andreessen Horowitz Baillie Gifford Blackrock Fidelity Franklin Templeton and Snowpoint and employs a team of 500 engineers and entrepreneurs. Astranis designs builds and operates its satellites out of its 153000 sq. ft. headquarters in Northern California USA.

Four billion people do not have access to the internet. Astranis is going to change that. We are building the next generation of smaller lower-cost telecommunications satellites to bring the world online. And to pull it off we have to reinvent microwave radio systems in space using SDRs.

• Work with Design Production Quality and Test engineering teams to develop inspection and verifications procedures
• Support root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective actions to mitigate non-conformance issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights for continuous improvement in quality
• Support process and systems development to improve production quality
• Develop dashboards metrics and visuals to help identify and monitor factory health

• A passion for hardware development and manufacturing systems including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Must be onsite 5 days a week

• Previous internship or coursework experience in a similar role
• Experience with quality management systems or hardware manufacturing
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python R or SQL
• Direct electrical or mechanical design experience
• Demonstrated ability to debug hardware and software problems under timepressure
