POSITION SUMMARY:

Plans supports and implements total quality programs. Designs specifies and installs quality control sampling systems testing mechanisms and equipment. Formulates and/or assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures and development of quality standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors degree and 3 years of quality experience with an understanding of advanced quality engineering practices principles and processes.
• Minimum 5-7 years diverse professional experience including strategic decision making within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication ability to lead and manage several large and complex projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others through support training etc.
• Ability to work with internal and external contacts at all levels within the organization. Able to represent the company in a professional manner with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to thoroughly research recommend and oversee implementation of new products materials processes etc. and present information.
• Prior experience with IATF 16949 processes

• Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning Production Part Approval Process submissions Geometric Dimensions & Tolerancing Flow Diagrams FMEAs Control Plans Statistics and fixture development based on part GD&T
• Demonstrated ability to use basic measurement tools (height gauge vernier micrometer bore gauge indicator etc)
• Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis using various problem solving techniques including 8D 5 Why A3.
• Ability to communicate to all levels of plant personnel with ease
• Good organizational interpersonal and problem solving skills. Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate cross-functional team meetings
• Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs

DUTIES:

• Provides quality engineering support to assure that customer issues are appropriately championed forquick accurate issue resolution and customer satisfaction with Magna Electronics response.
• Plans supports and implements total quality programs utilizing customer specific requirements concerning APQP FMEAs Control Plans Measurement Systems Analysis Statistical Techniques & PPAPs. Defines scope plans organizes leads and directs technical work and departmental efforts related to quality engineering activities for new and existing programs.
• Responsible to assure that quality systems meet or exceed IATF16949 standards within the division.
• Plans supports and implements total quality programs. Defines scope plans organizes leads and directs technical work and departmental efforts related to quality engineering activities for new and existing programs.
• Designs specifies and installs quality control sampling systems testing mechanisms and equipment. Formulates and/or assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures and development of quality standards.
• Serves as a liaison and coordinates activity of internal and external resources. Serves as a resource by providing a problem solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered and prevent potential quality problems.
• Investigates and solves manufacturing-related problems in assigned area using formal problem-solving tools.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
