Summary Description:

  • The Production Planner I (Columbus) is responsible for the planning and scheduling responsibilities primarily focused on the Columbus manufacturing operations. This encompasses the day-to-day activities associated with planning of full goods and raw materials. Utilization of various Refresco planning tools such as SAP and GIB in associations with other software applications as needed such as Excel Word and PowerPoint.

Essential Functions:

  • Utilizes GIB and SAP/MRP to develop executable production schedules.
  • Develop long term planning and capacity plans.
  • Manages inventories to proper levels balancing with agreed upon warehouse levels line time availability staffing age of inventory to maintain proper order fill strategies.
  • Orders supporting raw materials where applicable to ensure viability of the agreed upon schedule adhering to set lead times and lot sizes.
  • Review system forecasts to appropriately plan and communicate to respective internal counterparts of potentials issues and bottle necks.
  • Properly & timely communications of issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support new projects discontinuations product changes etc.
  • Effectively utilizes the change management process to ensure BOMs are maintained correctly.
  • Able to identify and solve the various quality issues that ensue in the manufacturing arena and how to handle them.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Understand the basic MRP functions used in planning of full goods as well as raw materials.
  • Ability to compile analyze and provide accurate reporting.
  • Experience in Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Teams Power BI SAP Analysis for Excel/ BW reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal

  • Organization and Time Management -- Be early or on time to meetings. End meetings on time. Schedule meetings to allow adequate time for processing changes. Meet deadlines. Keep adequate notes to reference for changes or misses.
  • Customer Focus understands and meets needs of customers and business partners; builds positive customer relationships.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferably in a Supply Chain role.
  • Experience working with ERP systems preferably SAP.
  • Experience with planning software
  • Experience working with Cross Functional teams (internal and external)
  • Bachelors or advanced degree in Supply Chain Management a plus.
  • APICS or IBF certification is an asset

Working Conditions:

  • Physical Demands Continuously sitting for prolonged periods as the job is administrative in nature.
  • Visual/Sensory This position requires attention to detail requiring attention with one or two senses at a time.
  • Work environment Work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment requiring ability to remain focused under pressure.
  • Mental Stress There is pronounced pressure from deadlines project management accuracy or similar demands.
  • Travel- Some travel might be required to visit plants.
