Job Description
If you are a Production/Manufacturing Manager looking for an opportunity to grow Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based out of our Natchitoches LA location you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of second shift operations. Your expertise will be vital in driving efficient production processes and upholding our high-quality standards. You will lead a dedicated team of two salaried supervisors and approximately 50-60 hourly employees. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager you will spearhead initiatives to optimize productivity enhance operational performance and foster a culture of collaboration and safety for the department.
AS A PRODUCTION/MANUFACTURING MANAGER YOU WILL:
- Lead mentor and develop a team of supervisors and hourly employees promoting a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
- Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards and operational efficiency.
- Monitor production metrics identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to optimize workflow.
- Collaborate with maintenance engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot production issues and ensure minimal downtime.
- Lead shift meetings to communicate production goals safety protocols and updates to the team.
- Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of safety awareness among all team members.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure all procedures reporting and policies are followed and has authority to directly address or correct any non-conformance.
- Completes or ensures proper paperwork record-keeping data entry.
SCHEDULE:
This position has the working hours of 4:30 am - 3:30 pm and is fully onsite.
REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent minimally required.
- Eight (8) years of experience as a Production Supervisor in a large high-volume manufacturing setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of successfully leading teams and driving operational excellence.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing production challenges.
- Strong orientation for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate well cross-functionally and work well at all levels of the organization.
- Resourceful proactive high energy results driven.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team generating results with general/minimal guidance from management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word) and familiarity with manufacturing software and reporting tools.
PREFERRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
- Three (3) years of experience as a Shift Manager in a large high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or similar continuous process improvement.
