Shift Hours: 4:00 pm - 2:30 am
Days: Monday - Thursday
(Training Hours: 5:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Thursday)
Starting Wage $30.21/hr $1.50 shift differential
The ProductionLead 13 advisespeers andworksother departments to contribute to Valmonts overall Production Lead must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results. This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor andis responsible fordriving the Safety Quality Delivery and Cost metrics in the communication leadershipteamworkand motivation with all employees while adhering to Valmonts standards policies and procedures are critical for this role.
Essential Functions:
- Recommends employment action to Production Supervisor based on work performance or work behaviors.
- Attends production employee performance review meetings as needed.
- Actively model leadand enforce established safety policies and consistently seek opportunities for safety improvements.
- Drive a safety first safety contacts near misses and bright is a mindset not a task.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work both in a non-temperature-controlledenvironment and outdoors.
- Accept make and cost ofpoor qualitywith training and improvement.
- Ensure all quality checks and paperwork are complete as expected and without error.
- Maintainthe work instructionsbest-practices and material flow to ensure that products are manufactured on schedule and within quality and costobjectives.
- Responsible for supervising the daily work of all production personnelandcommunicatingtosupervisor asappropriate.
- Leadculturethrough positive interactionsmotivationandrecognitionas needed.
- Train or arrange training of shift personnel to ensure consistent methods and results.
- Communicates daily with all levels of employeesregardingdaily safetyqualityand production metrics to be achieved and on-going training and development activities. Communicates regularly with direct reports on their personal and team achievements and improvements needed so that these individuals understand what is expected of them and their team.
- Maintaining a positive and engaged work environment for all personnel.
- Ability to effectively communicate between different shifts personnel and leadership.

- Ability to work in the assigned area and lead inmetrics whilemaintainingsafety and quality expectations.
- Maintainhousekeeping and anorderly production environment that is thoroughly cleaned for the following shift.
- If applicable based on location help assess and manage the teams bench strength and cross training needs
- If applicable based on location lead the Team on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to understand losses;take action to preventfuture breakdowns and incidents
- Develop a strong personal understanding of all processes and equipment within the assigned department
- Monitor equipment condition and plan downtime for repairs andpreventivemaintenance
- All other duties asrequiredand/or assigned.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education Experience Knowledge Skills and Abilities):
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Four years of leadership experience (ideally in an industrial and/or manufacturing setting).
- Wear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations.
- Maintain a safe and productive working environment.
- The ability to meet production safety and quality standards in a high-paced working environment.
- Knowledge of all varieties of machines and fabrication.
- General knowledge and experiencein theassigned area.
- Must have strong mechanical aptitudeincludingability to read micrometers flatness and radius gaugestape measures andif applicable based on location blueprints.
- Ability to be Valmont trained and certified in operation of forkliftandif applicable based on locationoverhead crane.
- Valid Drivers License and safe driving record.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft ExcelWordand Outlook
- Excellent communicationorganizationaland interpersonal skills.
- The ability tolift upto 50 pounds withmostfrequentlift upto 20 pounds

- Associatesdegree in related field.
- Four plusyears experiencein a leadership role in afast-pacedmanufacturing environment
- Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
- Six Sigmacertificationand/or training.
- The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.
- The ability topay attention to detail and follow workinstructions.
- The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
- A strong working knowledge of IFS
Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is performed in both an outdoor and indoor shop environment. This position will be exposed to all hazards located at manufacturing sites including noise fumes excessive heat/cold dust welding arc all chemicals associated with the manufacturing areas smoke and confined spaces. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. The job requires safety glasses hearing protection and metatarsal safety shoes be worn at all times. The employee must be able to spend the entire work shift on their feet within the shop environment. The incumbent must also be able to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) for working in the production facility.
Hazards:
This job requires handling metal objects some of which have sharp edges. Extreme care and awareness should be taken for all production jobs. Below are some common hazards that exist for this particular position. Set up and run of equipment provides the potential for injury through slips falls strains pinch points tripping hazards shot blasting equipment high pressure air nozzles material handling equipment.
