Are you a Product Support Engineer who enjoys getting close to the hardware solving real-world engineering challenges and working directly with manufacturing teams to improve products This role is for an engineer who thrives on troubleshooting root cause analysis and collaborating across engineering operations and supplier teams.

As a Product Support Engineer supporting Ram Air Turbine (RAT) systems you will play a key role in keeping critical aerospace hardware performing at its best. Youll investigate production and test failures identify solutions to manufacturing challenges support suppliers and production sites and drive improvements that enhance product quality reliability and performance.

What You Will Do

• Provide operations support for production of Ram Air Turbine (RAT) systems including air-driven turbines angle gearboxes hydraulic pumps and linear hydraulic actuators with locking/release mechanisms.

• Provide manufacturing support to suppliers and Collins production sites to resolve issues impacting hardware producibility quality and yield.

• Investigate electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical hardware acceptance test failures and production issues to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.

• Collaborate with plant sites and suppliers to implement solutions and improve manufacturing performance.

• Participate in product development activities including cost estimates standard specifications drawing layouts and performance or maintenance requirements.

• Lead and support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) reviews.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Experience analyzing mechanical rotating hardware and complex mechanical systems.

• Experience in resolving hardware manufacturing operational and test-related issues.

• Experience supporting product/component development and qualification testing including performance and environmental testing.

• Understanding of electric machines and rotating mechanical hardware.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering manufacturing and supplier teams.

The salary range for this role is 68900 USD - 131100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
