Product Engineering Materials Intern (Summer 2027)

What You Will Do

• Support the Electrochemical DevelopmentTeam with investigatingand evaluatingrawmaterialsforlead-acid batteryproduction.
• Build testmonitor andteardownexperimental2-volttest cellstrialingbatterymaterialchanges.
• Analyze test data and create engineering reportspresentationsanddata visualizationstocommunicate findings.
• Work primarily with lead-acid batteries with exposure toother batterytechnologies(lithium-ion sodium-ion andsupercapacitors).
• Create lab procedures and test documentation.
• Collaboratecross-functionallywithsystems engineeringprocurementand supplier qualityto launchmaterialchangesthat bestmeetourcustomerrequirements.

How You Will Do It

• Investigate2-volttestcellperformance dataand material claims from suppliers.
• Review the differencesbetweenvariousrawmaterialsfrom suppliers.
• Documenttestmethods used and testing observations.
• Be present and engaged ina labenvironment and followalllabsafetyproceduresand training.

What We Look For

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering Materials Engineering Chemistry or Electrochemistry.
• Ability to be in the greater Milwaukee area in the summer.
• Duration: Summer 2027. Up to 40 hours per week.
• Working Arrangements: Hybrid internship must have a quiet workspace away from interruptions with the option to work in the office. Be able to maintain regular contact with the supervisor/team via virtual methods.
