Product Development Engineer

Hotstart designs and manufactures thermal management solutions for industrial equipment markets. We are seeking a Product Development Engineer for our team in Spokane Washington. This position is responsible for transforming customer and market requirements into robust manufacturable products through concept development detailed mechanical design prototype evaluation validation testing and production launch.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

• Lead product development and improvement projects from concept through production release
• Design molded cast machined sheet-metal welded sealed and fluid-handling components and assemblies
• Release SolidWorks models drawings tolerance analyses BOMs specifications and engineering changes
• Material balancing DFM/DFA tooling cost reliability serviceability and supplier capabilities
• Perform calculations design reviews prototype builds testing troubleshooting and validation
• Collaborate across teams suppliers and customers to improve performance quality cost and manufacturability
• Integrate mechanical thermal fluid electrical and control requirements
• Occasional travel to visit customers suppliers field sites and industry events both domestic and international

Preferred Qualifications Skills and Abilities:

• BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• 8 years in custom machinery industrial equipment or OEM product development preferred
• Proven ownership of complex mechanical designs from concept through validated production release Strong design experience with molded cast machined welded fabricated and fluid-handling parts
• Experience with materials manufacturing GD&T DFM/DFA tooling suppliers and cost optimization
• Hands-on experience with prototypes fixtures testing troubleshooting and iterative design
• Working knowledge of thermal systems pumps heat exchangers controls circuits and/or refrigeration
• Advanced SolidWorks and documentation skills; clearly communicate design intent and results
• Practical collaborative problem solver who follows through and shares knowledge
