As a James Hardie intern you will gain hands-on experience in your chosen field while contributing to meaningful projects that drive business results. Our 12-week paid internship program is designed to provide real-world industry exposure strengthen your professional and technical skills and help prepare you for a successful career. Throughout the program you will collaborate with experienced professionals build valuable relationships across the organization and take on work that makes a measurable impact. Internship Objective
The intern will work to support the Procurement team by leveraging AI tools improving reporting and developing modeling tools.
- Leverage AI and automation tools to develop solutions that improve Procurement team efficiency and streamline workflows.
- Build and maintain cost models for high-impact procurement categories to support strategic sourcing decisions.
- Develop and organize supplier and product catalogs for key spend categories.
- Analyze procurement data and create reports dashboards and insights to support business decisions.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency standardization and reporting capabilities.
- Collaborate with Procurement team members to document and improve processes where formal procedures do not currently exist.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives that drive operational effectiveness and cost optimization.
- Present project findings recommendations and business impacts to Procurement leadership and stakeholders.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelors degree program in a relevant discipline at an accredited university with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029 (rising junior or rising senior).
- Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Available to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AI tools automation or agent development is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including functions such as XLOOKUP data analysis and reporting.
- Strong quantitative skills with the ability to perform calculations weighted averages and financial analyses.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present findings and recommendations effectively.
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights and process improvement opportunities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
As of the date of this posting a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $20 to $25 per hour. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience skills geography and may change over time.
