Overview

The Procurement Manager will independently lead assigned indirect procurement categories and manage all aspects of the strategic sourcing and procurement lifecycle. This role develops trusted relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers identifies cost savings and operational efficiencies evaluates commercial and contractual terms and develops and implements procurement procedures tools and best practices.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on self-directed procurement professional with strong problem-solving and analytical skills and experience with procure-to-pay processes. This role will initially operate as an individual contributor without direct reports; however the Procurement Manager is expected to serve as a visible leader within Procurement by mentoring Procurement Specialists providing guidance on complex sourcing and negotiation activities reviewing work and helping prioritize and coordinate team initiatives. As the Procurement function evolves this position may assume direct people-management responsibility. The successful candidate can independently drive decisions solve problems lead projects influence stakeholders at all levels and consistently deliver results in a proactive and deadline-oriented manner.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned categories including requirements gathering supplier sourcing competitive bidding contract negotiation purchase order coordination and supplier management.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies policies procedures and category plans in alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead global sourcing and procurement efforts for assigned categories enabling internal stakeholders across business units to maximize the value received from third-party partners.
  • Identify quantify and execute cost savings cost avoidance risk reduction and operational improvement opportunities through category strategies and close collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead process technology and system improvements that enhance purchasing efficiency visibility compliance and user experience.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive early Procurement engagement clarify business requirements evaluate options and facilitate effective sourcing decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to improve quality reliability service innovation and total cost of ownership.
  • Analyze supplier performance spend data market conditions and industry trends to identify sourcing opportunities commercial risks and process improvements.
  • Partner with Legal Finance Information Security Privacy and other control functions to ensure agreements are appropriately reviewed and supplier contracts are in place before commitments are made.
  • Advise and educate internal stakeholders on supplier programs commercial options negotiation strategies procurement policies and material contract risks and liabilities.
  • Lead competitive bid supplier evaluation negotiation recommendation and contract approval activities providing clear and well-supported recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support effective contract lifecycle management including document control and proactive monitoring of agreement expirations notice periods terminations renewals and commercial obligations.
  • Independently identify escalate and resolve supplier performance issues commercial disputes and procurement process exceptions.
  • Maintain complete and accurate procurement records sourcing documentation savings records approvals and supplier information.
  • Serve as a leader and mentor to Procurement Specialists by providing day-to-day guidance sharing best practices reviewing work on complex matters supporting professional development and helping strengthen overall team capabilities. The role does not have direct reports initially but may assume formal people-management responsibilities as the Procurement function grows.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of progressive global procurement strategic sourcing category management or supplier management experience with demonstrated ownership of complex sourcing initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently exercise sound judgment lead through influence and mentor coach or guide procurement professionals. Prior people-management experience is preferred or the demonstrated readiness to assume direct-report responsibility in the future.
  • Proven experience leading commercial and contract negotiations across indirect categories including significant software SaaS technology and hardware negotiations with a focus on competitive pricing risk mitigation and alignment with company strategy.
  • Strong commercial acumen and working knowledge of financial analysis business cases total cost of ownership savings methodologies and supplier economics.
  • Experience improving procure-to-pay processes procurement operating models workflows controls or related systems.
  • Ability to build credibility and collaborate effectively with cross-functional leaders stakeholders subject matter experts and executive sponsors.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legal compliance privacy information security and regulatory considerations as well as standard commercial contract terms and conditions.
  • Experience using procurement sourcing contract management spend analytics or procure-to-pay technologies.
  • Analytical and structured thinker with the creativity and initiative to challenge inefficient practices and implement practical non-traditional solutions.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to independently manage multiple complex priorities projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Results-driven and accountable with a consistent record of following through on commitments and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor recommendations and influence stakeholders team members senior management and executive leadership.
  • Strategic methodical and comfortable operating with limited direction in an evolving environment.
  • Strong project leadership skills and an appreciation for the processes procedures governance and change management required to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Bachelors degree in business supply chain finance or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.

Additional Details

  • Salary commensurate with experience ($87900 - $140000 US Dollars) with bi-weekly pay via direct deposit. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Quorum Software reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications experience training work history and geographic location of the selected candidate.
  • Background Check: The successful candidate will need to successfully complete the following clearances: Criminal History Check Education Verification Employment Verification Drivers License Verification and passport/ID validation.
