Processing Lead (second shift 2pm-10pm)

Job Description
The Processing Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily processing operations during Second Shift MondayFriday 2:00 PM10:30 PM.. The Processing Lead will lead the Processing Technicians assign daily tasks monitor productivity maintain quality standards and ensure all processing activities are completed safely accurately efficiently and in accordance with company SOPs and applicable New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJCRC) requirements.
The Processing Lead will work closely with the Processing Manager to ensure production goals are met and that all cannabis material is properly handled tracked processed packaged labeled and transferred through the appropriate stages of production.
Key Responsibilities
Processing Operations
- Supervise daily harvest bucking trimming drying curing packaging and processing operations.
- Ensure harvested cannabis is properly handled transported stored and processed to maintain product quality.
- Lead train and support Processing Technicians in proper processing procedures.
- Assign daily tasks and stations to Processing Technicians based on production priorities and staffing needs.
- Monitor employee productivity and ensure daily and weekly production goals are met.
- Ensure employees follow all company SOPs safety procedures sanitation requirements and production standards.
- Monitor workflow throughout the shift and make adjustments as needed to maintain production efficiency.
- Assist Processing Technicians with processing duties when necessary.
- Identify production issues and communicate them to the Processing Manager.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve processing quality efficiency and workflow.
- Ensure all products are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Inventory & Compliance
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with METRC tracking and documentation.
- Track cannabis movement from harvest through processing packaging labeling and vault transfer.
- Ensure all cannabis material is properly identified weighed recorded and tracked.
- Verify production records and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure employees follow all applicable NJCRC regulations and internal company procedures.
- Assist with audits inspections inventory counts and compliance reviews.
- Immediately report discrepancies inventory issues or compliance concerns to the Processing Manager.
- Conduct counts of packaging labeling and processing materials and communicate shortages to management.
Packaging & Labeling
- Oversee the weighing packaging and labeling of finished cannabis products.
- Verify package weights counts lot information labels and product information for accuracy.
- Ensure primary secondary and tertiary packaging is assembled and completed correctly.
- Ensure labels are printed and applied correctly to finished products.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout the packaging process.
- Ensure completed products are properly documented and transferred to the appropriate storage or vault location.
Equipment & Facility Management
- Oversee the proper operation of trimming bucking grinding packaging labeling and other processing equipment.
- Ensure processing equipment is cleaned and maintained according to company procedures.
- Perform or oversee light to medium preventative maintenance on automated processing equipment.
- Report equipment failures maintenance needs and safety concerns to the Processing Manager.
- Ensure processing areas remain clean organized and compliant with sanitation requirements throughout the shift.
- Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of the shift.
Team Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Processing Technicians during the second shift.
- Provide direction training and coaching to processing employees.
- Monitor employee attendance performance productivity and adherence to company policies.
- Help create a positive productive and professional work environment.
- Lead by example and maintain a high standard of work ethic professionalism and accountability.
- Communicate shift updates production progress employee concerns and outstanding tasks to the Processing Manager.
- Ensure a proper shift handoff to management and/or the next operating shift when applicable.
Working Environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting standing kneeling bending walking and repetitive movements.
- Will be required to wear PPE at times.
- Prolonged exposure to humidity and high-intensity artificial lighting.
- Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend lift stretch climb and crawl while working with ladders and at heights.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 2 years of cannabis processing experience preferred.
- Previous lead supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cannabis processing packaging and production procedures.
- Experience with METRC or similar cannabis tracking systems preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with employees and management.
- Ability to lead a team and provide direction in a professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions within established company procedures.
- Energetic team player willing to take direction and train others.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and multitask effectively.
- Ability to work weekends holidays overtime and a flexible schedule when needed.
- Willingness to comply with all applicable state regulations company policies and guidelines.
Second Shift Schedule
This position is specifically for Second Shift MondayFriday 2:00 PM10:30 PM.
The Processing Lead must be able to consistently work the assigned second-shift schedule and remain available for occasional overtime weekends holidays or schedule changes based on production needs.
