Process Lab Aide - PRN
Varying Shifts - Rotating Weekends/Call
Responsible for correctly ordering lab tests to be performed and accurately reporting lab results by telephone.
Job Duties:
- Receives specimens processes specimens results and charges appropriate tests.
- Understands pertinent LIS functions and performs procedures effectively.
- Performs data entry of patient information ordering of tests scheduling tests laboratory computer and reviews the Expected List for specimens not received into the laboratory.
- Prints sorts and distributes lab reports; answers telephone and relays messages.
- Notifies phlebotomists of orders to be collected and communicates test information and results to physicians nurses and outside clients.
- Transports specimens to the processing area or appropriate lab department.
