Job Summary
PURPOSE:
As a Shell Process Engineer you will play a critical role in driving manufacturing performance within a fast-paced production environment. You will leverage engineering expertise data analysis and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance safety quality and operational efficiency.
This role partners cross-functionally with operations quality and maintenance teams to solve complex process challenges optimize slurry chemistry and shell processes and lead initiatives that improve productivity and product performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance shell process quality using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Support daily production operations by troubleshooting process issues and implementing sustainable solutions
- Monitor test and control slurry chemistry to maintain consistent process performance
- Program troubleshoot and optimize robotic dipping systems to improve quality and throughput
- Analyze scrap rework and process performance data to identify trends and drive improvements
- Maintain process stability through equipment monitoring parameter control and optimization efforts
- Support engineering change management including review documentation validation and implementation
- Participate in audits and quality investigations; implement and track corrective and preventive actions
- Evaluate product designs and equipment capabilities to ensure manufacturability within existing processes
- Lead and support capital projects and tooling initiatives to improve safety quality and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with environmental health safety and quality standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations quality and maintenance teams to achieve plant goals
- Perform additional engineering and quality-related duties as assigned
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong analytical critical thinking and communication skills.
- Self-motivated data-driven problem solver with a proven track record of process improvement.
- Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment including lifting materials up to 50 lbs.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports directly to the Process Engineering Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Chemical Materials Science or related field)
- Knowledge of investment casting technology processes and manufacturing methods are preferred.
