Procedural Scheduler Full Time, OR

Additional Job Information

• 40 hours per week
• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Primarily handling OR Billing
• Prior experience preferred

Job Summary:

Directs the patient surgery flow process at the physicians office. Performs patient coordination appointment schedule and surgery schedule as assigned. Supports Central Billing Office by maintaining patient financial records at the office. Responsible for obtaining prior authorization for surgeries. Face-to-face contact with patients when finding a date for surgery and going over pre-op instructions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Obtaining prior authorization for outpatient testing/imaging internal and external

• Obtaining prior authorization for inpatient and outpatient surgeries

• Scheduling or rescheduling surgeries and coordinating with OR scheduling

• Educating patients with surgery information (pre-op medications location prep instructions etc.)

• Scheduling post/op appointments

• Coordinating and scheduling pre/op appointments to align with the surgery date

• Obtaining cardiac clearance from the patients provider

• Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree: High School Diploma or GED

• Experience: None Required

• Supervisor Experience: None Required

• Licenses & Certification: None Required
