Microsofts Cloud business is expanding and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCPs vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud and AI capabilities at scale. Our mission is to deliver the worlds computer with an industry-leading supply chain. The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan source make deliver but also manages supportability (spares) sustainability and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsofts over 200 online businesses including Bing MSN Office 365 Xbox Live OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is supported by more than 300 datacenters around the world that enable services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries.

Microsoft Cloud Planning (MCP) is the central planning function within CSCP focused on forecasting demand planning and supply planning for all Microsoft Cloud services and associated hardware directly impacting the success of Microsofts cloud business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead network demand planning for programs supporting Azure and AI infrastructure growth across Microsofts global cloud platform.
  • Translate business demand technology roadmaps and infrastructure requirements into actionable plans that improve readiness predictability and execution.
  • Drive complex cross-functional initiatives across engineering capacity planning deployment finance and business organizations.
  • Lead strategic programs and planning transformations that improve scalability operational efficiency and business outcomes.
  • Identify risks dependencies and execution challenges and drive alignment on mitigation strategies across partner teams.
  • Establish governance mechanisms business rhythms executive reviews and performance metrics that enable effective decision-making and execution at scale.
  • Partner with engineering teams to understand infrastructure requirements and ensure planning assumptions remain aligned with evolving technology needs.
  • Develop data-driven analysis and recommendations that influence prioritization investment decisions and business planning.
  • Build alignment and drive decisions across multiple organizations while managing competing priorities and constraints.
  • Communicate complex technical and business topics clearly to senior leaders and executives including recommendations tradeoffs risks and execution plans.
  • Represent the organization in executive forums and lead discussions that shape network planning strategy and operational execution.
  • Foster a culture of accountability collaboration continuous improvement and customer-focused execution.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree AND 6 years experience in engineering product/technical program management data analysis or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering Computer Science Operations Research Business Finance Supply Chain or related field AND 10 years of experience in Technical Program Management Infrastructure Planning Engineering Operations Business Planning or related disciplines;
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of experience leading large-scale cross-organizational programs with executive visibility and measurable business impact.
  • Experience driving demand planning forecasting capacity planning infrastructure planning or business planning processes within complex technology environments.
  • Proven track record of independently leading highly ambiguous initiatives and delivering results across organizational boundaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment without direct authority.
  • Experience presenting recommendations business tradeoffs and strategic decisions to executive audiences.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to convert complex data into actionable insights and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success driving strategic business decisions through influence data and operational rigor.
  • Experience supporting hyperscale cloud infrastructure AI infrastructure networking data centers or large-scale technical environments.
  • Understanding of network architecture networking technologies infrastructure deployment and capacity management concepts.
  • Experience leading planning transformation operational excellence or business process improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient financial and business acumen.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards governance frameworks and business review mechanisms.
  • Masters Degree in Engineering Business Administration (MBA) Operations or related field

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142800 - $274800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188000 - $304200 per year.
