Job Description Summary:

We are seeking an experienced C software engineer with a strong mathematics backgroundin developing algorithms and software for the purposes of detection tracking and 3D surface reconstruction in a medical device software application.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Principal Software Engineer your experience with object-oriented programing will assist in the research development and growth of complex software applications. You will be working with a fast-paced and exciting research and development environment that utilizes your familiarity with modern software practices.

You are expected to work closely with the advanced concept development team to design and develop commercial software features in C making use of novel tracking and surface reconstruction algorithms for cardiac sensors used in electrophysiological procedures. You are expected to communicate technical information effectively and clearly and present technical approaches and findings. Our team of motivated technical talent works closely with the end user (and each other) to ensure the direct clinical applicability of developed products.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or EE/CSE or related field from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience or a Masters degree in Computer Science or EE/CSE and 6 years of experience or a PhD and 2-3 years of experience
• Proficiency in C/C programming (C11 or above)
• Experience with tracking algorithms such as Kalman filters or non-linear least squares
• Experience processing and analyzing sensor measurements
• Experience with computational geometry
• Interest in design of GUIs or broader UI/UX interest and/or experience
• Experience with software debugging tools (gdb valgrind gprof etc.)
• Experience developing software in an Agile environment
• Familiarity with a scripting language such as Matlab or Python
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with one of Qt OpenGL Direct X11 VTK or other visualization technology used to build GUIs or advanced use of other scientific visualization capability (Paraview Visit etc.)
• Experience with C math or geometry library (Eigen CGAL Boost Geometry etc.)
• Experience using C templates and template libraries
• Experience working in a Linux environment.
• Familiarity with bioelectric impedance sensors and simulations
• Experience in applied mathematics and physics particularly continuous/numerical optimization numerical analysis probability and statistics

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) see vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training pertinent education including licensure and certifications among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly) non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g. any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
