Position Summary:

Performsassignments that are unique or willestablishprocedure. Applies proven technical methods to assignments. Supports project teams and works on projects underguidanceof with long-term thinking and planning experience and knowledge outside areas of resourcetothe organization. May beassistedbylower leveltechnicians and have frequent contact with professionals and others in the establishment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recommend and/orcreatesnew testssystemsand/or procedures.

  • Designs products tools and fixtures (with engineers input) and/or makes modifications to existing products and completes or coordinates the completion of all necessary documentation.

  • Recommend and implementnew technologies(hardware software equipment product processes)

  • Recommends and/or creates and executes plans fortesting ofconcepts design changes or product requirements based on expected results only. Plans will require moderate engineering review.

  • Analyzes or interprets design or process changes in a complex manner ( complex tolerance stack-ups design calculations DFMEA PFMEA)

  • Recommends and/or conducts tests requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures.

  • May justify andprocurecapital equipment.

  • Troubleshoot complex equipment or product malfunctions.

  • Interactswith others within and external to Swagelok in an advanced manner.

  • Makes significantcontributionto the training of technicians engineeringco-opsor entry-level engineers. Independentlyassistother technicians. May check the routine work of other technicians.

  • Responsible for the guidance and completion of project work with moderate supervision.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Required:

  • 2-year associates degree in relatedfield(mechanical engineering technologyCADor other technical fields) or equivalent work experience

  • 5 years of experience in relatedfield

  • Expertisein chosen technical field

  • Proficient user of moderately complex technical tools

  • Demonstrates ability to complete major and complex assignments or parts of larger assignments

  • Advanced problem solving anddecision makingabilities

  • Good oral and excellent written communication

  • Demonstrates proficient communication programming and trouble shooting skills

  • Strong abilities to use moderately complex technical tools and lab equipment and instrumentation (Equipment may vary based on department)

  • Good computer and typical office software skills

Working Conditions and/or Physcial Requirements:

  • Ability tosafely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistentwith the ADA FMLA and other federalstateand local standards including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

  • Ability tomaintainregular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federalstateand local standards.

  • Ability to pass vision acuity test with or without reasonable accommodation.
