Job Summary
PURPOSEThe Pricing Manager is responsible for ensuring system-generated pricing supports Area margin goals through effective field execution. This role partners with Market and Location leadership to align pricing with sales strategies drives adoption of pricing tools and best practices and uses analytics to guide decisions and influence behavior. Acting as the link between strategy and execution the position ensures pricing is competitive consistent and delivers profitable DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPartner with Area Market and Location Leadership to understand sales strategies customer dynamics and margin Area-level direction into actionable pricing activities at the Market and Location level ensuring alignment with financial goals and competitive tactical system implementations including SAP deployments and Pricing Engine upgrades ensuring pricing strategies are accurately translated into system capabilities and field directly with local teams to implement best practices and execute tactical pricing activities that deliver credible market-relevant adoption consistency and compliance with system-generated pricing reinforcing pricing governance and available analytics and reporting to inform decisions identify opportunities and drive behavior changes that improve pricing Markets to include customer pricing discussions and decisions as a standard part of the quarterly planning reliance on customer-specific pricing by optimizing product category price levels on customer updates to pricing matrices based on market conditions with a focus on capturing margin premium on slow-moving and low-demand non-stock pricing improvements ensuring appropriate margin premiums are established and consistently realized across Markets and closely with the Sourcing team to ensure cost advantages are maintained and properly reflected in pricing while supporting margin Retail pricing and competitive positioning by ensuring new items are properly designated as retail priced appropriately to market and that labels are accurate and consistently as a key liaison between Markets and the FSC Pricing team to stay informed on best practices tools and system structured actionable feedback to FSC Pricing team on system performance tools processes and analytics to enhance pricing as the local pricing subject matter expert coaching teams on pricing principles tools and expected RESPONSIBILITIESAs needed supervises assigned employees including staff selection and training; planning assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provide leadership and guidance to coach motivate and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Minimum of six (6) years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Minimum of three (3) years in an analytical decision support or reporting analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret pricing data and translate insights into to work with and interpret large datasets from multiple systems to support pricing in Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables formulas) and general Microsoft Office communication skills with the ability to influence and drive to prioritize work and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced field-facing collaboration skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across functions and to evaluate pricing practices and business processes to identify opportunities for improved execution and margin focus on continuous improvement and willingness to challenge existing in distribution manufacturing or retail environments supporting multi-site pricing environments knowledge of pricing systems and reporting tools is ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITYThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
