Job Summary

At 5Star customer experience is our differentiator. The Premium Billing Specialist is an important part of the Policy Administration team. Processing payments efficiently and accurately this role will interact regularly with both our internal sales and support teams as well as external agents and groups. This role ensures that our external partners and customers receive the information they need in a timely manner developing relationships through friendly and accurate interactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • This role will primarily focus on applying payments received to groups and individuals reconciling as needed and working with internal teams and external clients to resolve discrepancies.
  • Additionally this role will help support Account Managers and New Business teams in ensuring agent accounts are accurate.
  • Responding to agent emails and calls the Specialist will provide requested information reset log-in passwords assist in agent portal training and provide general information requested.
  • On an ad-hoc basis the Specialist will assist in the preparation review and dissemination of various reports and tax forms including Schedule As Form 5500s commission payment schedules and other items as needed and provide information to support internal and external audits.

Education Licensure Certification and Experience

  • HS diploma some college preferred
  • Experience in basic financial accounting
  • Strong proficiency in Excel

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Analysis and comprehension skills
  • Knowledge of basic financial concepts
  • Familiarity with using Microsoft tools such as Word and other Office products
  • Familiarity with SalesForce
  • Working understanding of insurance business and processes
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good command over spoken and written communication
  • Ability to thrive under own direction and as part of a larger project team
  • Organizational and presentation skills
