Job Summary

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Postsecondary Advising Coordinator supports the implementation of district initiatives that prepare students for successful transitions to postsecondary education training military service apprenticeships industry-recognized credential attainment and employment. Working collaboratively with school administrators and staff responsible for implementing college and career readiness initiatives the coordinator assists high schools in providing consistent high-quality postsecondary advising experiences aligned with district priorities.
The coordinator supports implementation of the districts High School Advisory Program as a primary structure for delivering college and career readiness experiences. The position develops and shares resources facilitates professional learning coordinates districtwide postsecondary initiatives builds partnerships and assists schools in strengthening systems that prepare every student for success beyond high school. This position supports implementation across the High School Network and does not provide direct school-based student advising services.
CAAS Coordinator Admin position
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Coordination
- Supports implementation of district college and career readiness initiatives across the High School Network
- Assists school administrators and staff responsible for implementing college and career readiness initiatives
- Coordinates communication resources and guidance related to district postsecondary priorities
- Develops implementation tools and resource materials to promote consistent practices across schools
- Coordinates districtwide activities that promote college career military apprenticeship and workforce readiness
- Assists schools in strengthening systems that support successful postsecondary planning for all students
- Shares effective practices and implementation strategies among high schools
Advisory Program Support
- Supports implementation of the districts High School Advisory Program
- Develops and shares Advisory resources aligned with district college and career readiness indicators
- Coordinates professional learning related to Advisory implementation
- Assists schools in integrating college and career readiness experiences into Advisory programming
- Supports districtwide Advisory campaigns focused on postsecondary planning
- Collaborates with schools to strengthen Advisory as the primary structure for postsecondary planning
Postsecondary Readiness
- Supports schools in implementing activities that promote college career military apprenticeship and workforce readiness
- Coordinates district-sponsored college fairs career fairs financial aid awareness events career exploration activities and postsecondary planning initiatives
- Supports schools in implementing initiatives related to College Credit Plus OhioMeansJobs resources industry-recognized credentials FAFSA completion scholarships and transition planning
- Assists schools in utilizing Naviance and other district-approved postsecondary planning resources
- Supports schools in using student readiness information to inform planning and student supports
Professional Learning and Collaboration
- Coordinates and facilitates professional learning for staff responsible for implementing college and career readiness initiatives
- Provides implementation support and technical assistance to schools
- Collaborates with district departments to support consistent implementation of postsecondary initiatives
- Assists in developing partnerships with colleges universities employers apprenticeship programs military representatives and community organizations
- Represents the department at meetings workshops and community events as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of college and career readiness programs and postsecondary pathways
- Knowledge of high school advising practices and student support systems
- Knowledge of career development principles and workforce readiness initiatives
- Ability to organize coordinate and support multiple district initiatives simultaneously
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with school personnel and community partners
- Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in educational technology and postsecondary planning platforms
QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful experience in secondary education
- Experience with college and career readiness initiatives student advising counseling Career Technical Education or related educational programs preferred
- Experience planning and facilitating professional learning preferred
