Support Student Success Inside and Beyond the Classroom
Our organization is seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to support students in an Illinois school district throughout the school year. This opportunity is a strong fit for a social work professional who is passionate about student advocacy and helping young people navigate challenges that may impact their learning behavior relationships attendance and overall well-being.
What Youll Do
As part of the school support team youll provide social-emotional services tailored to individual student needs while helping identify concerns and develop effective strategies for addressing them. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide individual and group social-emotional support.
- Develop and implement appropriate student interventions.
- Monitor student progress and document services provided.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning.
- Connect students and families with appropriate school and community resources.
- Identify barriers affecting student learning behavior attendance or participation.
- Collaborate with teachers families administrators and related service professionals.
Requirements
- LSW or LCSW preferred based on district requirements.
- School-based experience with children or adolescents preferred.
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Familiarity with student support services and school-based resources.
- Knowledge of social-emotional development and behavioral interventions.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement.
